READ WITHOUT DISTRACTION

In Rainbows

I never really got there
I just pretended that I had
Words are blunt instruments
Words are sawed-off shotguns

Listening to In Rainbows feels like short journey through life. With each song representing a different experience that seamlessly flows into the next stage. A sense of continuity and progression.

It all starts adventurous and fast, evoking exciting new feelings. It used to be alright, what happened? The sudden changes make everything constant. Some might feel a sense of contemplation, and others may find it emotionally resonant. Or even both at once. Urgent needs to take action are mixed with senses of acceptance and resignation.

Radiohead released In Rainbows in 2007. It’s their seventh album and it features 10 tracks that explore themes of love, loss, and change. The band almost split up during the recordings due to personal struggles and creative differences. I guess they were feeling the emotions that are reflected in the final songs. Somehow life-changing?
